Delete your account

You can permanently delete your GameFold account at any time. Deletion is immediate and irreversible — all of your personal data and user-generated content will be removed from our systems.

What gets deleted Your profile (username, bio, avatar, date of birth), email address, game library, reviews, lists, follows, likes, notification tokens, consent records, and all app activity logs. This happens via cascade delete on your profile record — nothing is retained.

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app (recommended)

  1. Open GameFold and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings (profile tab → gear icon).
  3. Scroll to Account and tap Delete account.
  4. Confirm the destructive action in the two confirmation dialogs.

Your data is removed immediately and you're signed out. You can create a new account later with the same email if you change your mind.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email (for users without the app installed)

If you can't or don't want to install the app, send a deletion request from the email address associated with your account:

  1. Email privacy@gamefold.app from your account's email address.
  2. Subject line: Account deletion request.
  3. Include your GameFold username (optional but speeds things up).
  4. We'll verify ownership of the email and delete your account within 30 days, as required by GDPR Art. 17. In practice most requests are processed within 72 hours.

Retention after deletion

What is NOT deleted

If another user has quoted, replied to, or interacted with your content, those interactions are attributed to an anonymous "deleted user" label rather than removed from the interacting user's history. Your username is released and may be registered by another user in the future.
